HOW TO HAVE A LOUD, CLEAR VOICE

Have you ever been to a presentation, perhaps participated in a team meeting or even been on a teleconference call where you can tell the speaker has got great things to say but you simply can’t hear them?

In this video we’re going to be sharing with you our top tips on how you can increase your volume when you’re speaking and presenting.

Tip number one: give yourself permission to speak loudly!

A lot of times we don’t speak loud enough because we are afraid.

We are afraid of coming across as yelling, as rude or as out of control.

This usually happens because we have been conditioned since we were kids to: keep it down, Keep it down… and because of that we developed fear of speaking loudly. But as public speakers we want to be able to fill the room with our volume and our voice.

Give yourself permission to speak loudly and you will come across with more authority and more power.

Tip number two, on a really practical level, we recommend that you take a few deep breaths before you step on stage.

Taking a few deep breaths fills your lungs with air and it means that when you start speaking you have a loud clear voice where everyone in the room can hear you.

Quite often when we step on stage, as speakers we can be breathless and it’s simply because we don’t have enough air in our lungs which affects our volume. So take a few deep breaths and you will be loud and clear.

Tip number three: believe what you are saying.

When we don’t believe what we are saying, our volume naturally goes down. As if we don’t want the audience to hear us and to listen to what we have to say. We start mumbling, but when we believe in every single word we’re saying our
volume goes up. So make sure you believe in your words, you believe what you’re saying and you will come across with more power and authority in your voice.

Speak up! Pump up the volume! Make sure you can be heard! You can do this by applying our top tips:

Number one: give yourself permission

Number two: take a few deep breaths before you start speaking.

And number three: make sure you believe in what you’re saying.
